Uninterrupted views, over the stunning estuary, from our 200-year-old Georgian townhouse in popular Irsha Street
Our house, we think, is one of the most charming properties in Appledore. We, as a family, have been in Appledore for 38 years now. There are lovely walks around and dogs are allowed on our foreshore at any time, with "No restrictions" except at high tide!! A slipway is 20 paces away. Dogs downstairs, in the house only please. There is a charge of £15 per week for doggies. Two well behaved dogs only and all hair to be removed on leaving, please.
Appledore was featured on the One Show, as one of the most unspoilt places to visit in the West Country. There is cycling on the Tarka trail with many places where cycles are for hire. Lovely beaches, with fantastic surfing nearby. Fishing, sailing, bird watching, walking, cream teas. Jazz
evenings in the local pubs. Trips to Lundy Island from Bideford.
Waters Reach is well-equipped. On the ground floor, is a regency dining room, seating for six, a fully-fitted kitchen, a small breakfast room off it. A good sized shower room.
The views are stunning, from the drawing room, on the first floor and there is a purpose built sofa bed, for two, good TV and DVD, Many books and games too. We try and keep our prices reasonable and give you the option of taking your own bedding down or, if you wish, Linda, our housekeeper will make your beds up for £6 per bed. £1 for a towel.
There is a bathroom on the second floor.
On the second floor, to the rear there is a twinbedded room overlooking Appledore's rooftops and gardens. To the front a double bedded bedroom with the most stunning views of the river estuary. There is a TV and you can sit up in bed and look out across the wide estuary. You can even hear the waves lapping the foreshore at high tide.
There is an excellent pub within walking distance, which is dog friendly. In fact all the pubs in Appledore are dog friendly. Along with the foreshore. Many pubs have Jazz evenings and live music of a high standard.
Most of our guests love Waters Reach and Appledore. Many book up year after year, we hope you will want to do the same!
A comfortable family home with spectacular views. Well-behaved pets welcome but downstairs only. Not really suitable for children under 3 years old (steep stairs). No smokers.

The small port of Bideford in north Devon, England, is located on the River Torridge opposite East-of-the-Water. A perfect location for staying at if you wish to explore the north Devon coast, Bideford is not far from Northam, Abbotsham, Westward Ho!, Appledore, and Monkleigh. The nearest main cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Exeter (population 106,772), and Truro (which has a population of 20,920 according to the 2001 Census).
By the 16th century Bideford had become the third largest port in England, although its importance is far less these day. It is famed for the 'Long Bridge' which crosses the river and which dates right back to the 15th century.
Bideford is easily accessibly by road, being located on the A39 coastal road, and offers much for the holidaymaker wishing to explore this part of Devon.
